The past few months have been a season of rest…something I didn’t know I needed until it happened.

After stepping away from FlashPoint in May of this year, I finally had time to decompress from what had been a whirlwind of a ride. Producing that show, and walking alongside it from launch to international platform was something I never expected…but God clearly had a plan. And when I heard His voice say it was time to step away, I obeyed. I didn’t know what was next, but I knew I needed to make room for it.

And honestly? The break has been a gift. I’ve had dinner with Amy and the boys almost every night. We took a vacation. And my brain…so constantly running at full speed…finally got a little room to breathe.

After a couple months, I realized the fire to speak into culture hadn’t left me. In fact, it was being rekindled. Not long after that, I felt God begin stirring something in my heart…something that had been there for a long time but hadn’t yet been given permission to grow: launching my own podcast and YouTube channel.

And so The Power Source Podcast was born.

The name actually goes way back. When Amy and I were newly married…just six months in…we dove into full-time ministry. I was already leading worship, but we were asked to take over the youth group at our church. We called it Power Source Youth Ministries. Our slogan? Get Plugged In.

That was the mission: help young people get plugged into God first…and then into their culture. We wanted to raise up teens who knew their identity in Christ and were equipped to make a difference in their schools, families, and future. For 11 years, we poured into that vision. And now, God is calling me to do it again on a much broader scale.

In my devotional time, He kept taking me back to John 15: “I am the vine; you are the branches… apart from Me, you can do nothing.” That hit me like a lightning bolt. So many people (even well-meaning Christians) are trying to live life through their own strength, disconnected from the source. They’re doing good things, but without staying plugged into the One who gives power, it eventually runs dry.

Jesus said, “If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” We love the promise, but we skip the prerequisite: staying connected.

That’s what The Power Source Podcast is all about. First, staying plugged into the source…Jesus. And then? Plugging into the world around you and making a lasting impact for the Kingdom.

Because culture isn’t shaped in Washington alone. It’s shaped in classrooms, studios, kitchens, boardrooms, and pulpits. And Christians are called to be part of all of it.

So that’s where I’m headed, and I’d love for you to come along for the ride. Whether you’re a longtime friend, a fellow culture-watcher, or someone just wanting to get reconnected with your purpose, The Power Source Podcast was built with you in mind.

Let’s get plugged in.
